Dr. Suess Themed Birthday Party

Hi Everyone! I did a video on my grandson's birthday party a while back, but I thought it would also be a good idea to post pictures from the party. I listed the pictures in order of walking into the house so that you can see first hand what the guests experienced. :0) The first picture is walking up to the house. I used terra cotta pots(Michael's) that I painted blue added in Plaster of Paris(Michael's) and stuck in a painted white dowel(Michael's). I added red duct tape(Michael's) to the dowel(Michael's) and added part of a red feather boa(Michael's) at the bottom and paper blue pom poms(ebay) at the top.

As you enter the house, there's a 12 month banner. It's numbered 1-12 and on each numbered panel there is a picture associated with him at that age. I purchased some balloons from the grocery store to liven up the area. The "J" is from Michael's for added color. The book you see is a Dr. Seuss birthday book that each guest signed a little message for Jason so that he can look back over the years and see the sweet messages everyone left him. The frame is a little poem about him turning one and to leave written message for him on any page. I did a video you will see at the bottom which will go into more depth on the poem and each item.

This is a picture of the cake and some of the fun treats. I didn't make the cake, but I just love it!
This is the fondue section. The skewers are bananas and strawberries. The cute sign says, "This Way, That Way, etc and is decorated with a Dr. Seuss paper hat.  I did it the same way that I made the ones for the entry and you can see them up close on the video as well.
This is a picture of the entry way into the kitchen. Notice the large Dr. Seuss on the balloon? I got him from Ebay and then brought him to my local grocery store to have him filled with helium. The banner that you see in the background is so darling. It says Happy Birthday and the center is a Dr. Seuss hat made out of paper as well. The skirt that you see around the table is one that I purchase on Ebay and it's a circus themed table skirt. Being that it was red and white stripped it was perfect!
This next picture showcases some of the food that was at the party. I made two different kind of cookies. One was blue and white polka dot ties and the other was yellow mustache's to bring in the Lorax theme. I also did cute little candy mustache's. I found the molds and chocolate at Michael's. They were very easy to do.
Here's another picture of a decoration that I made with the terra cotta pots. I also found glass jars that I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut vinyl to apply on the glass. It had the Cat in the Hat fish and it say, "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" I filled it with Goldfish crackers. I also found cute red and yellow frames at Michael's to put a cute description name of what everything was.
Here's a close up of the Green Eggs and Ham that I made.
Below is a picture of the Lorax Nutter Butter Bars that I made with melted chocolate and edible candy eyes from Michael's. The "Green Eggs and Ham" are flat pretzels with melted chocolate and a green M&M on top.
This is an additional room where more food, water and the photo prop area was as well as additional sitting area.
This is the photo prop area where I had two painted blue frames, two Dr. Seuss hats, a boa for the girls and a red polka dot tie for the guys.
Here's my son and his girlfriend using the props.

This is my grandson soaking it all in. The banner on his high chair I made so that he has his own personal celebration banner!
I didn't take pictures of everything so be sure to check out this video so that you can see the water bottles all decorated and some great ideas for gift bags for older and younger children. :0)
