Window Tutu Card

Hi Everyone! Here's a window tutu card that I made for my niece who is turning 3. I used Tim Holtz for the hanger and tulle to make the skirt from scratch. I used the Paper Dolls Dress Up(for the tank top cut at 5 inches), Birthday Bash Card base cut at 5 inches. I cut 2 more cut at 4.75 inches and 2 more sized at 4.75 with a circle at 3.95 welded in the center to create a winder. To make the banner I used the Christmas cartridge that comes preloaded on your Gypsy cut at 1.6 inches.

Since this card was more complicated, I did two separate videos. Here's part one: and here's part two: />

Textured Elements

Hi Everyone! In my class today we learned about textured elements. They can range from anything from glitter, washi tape, brayered embossing, and pleated folding. I choose to do glitter and ink embossing. I also used the Tim Holtz checkerboard embossing folder and the Sizzex heart embossing folder. I used my Cricut and Accent Essentials to cut the heart out. I cut it at 3 inches. The cute sentiment is from CardzTV Stamps.

More from My Clean and Simple Class

Hi Everyone! I'm still going like gang busters on my class. It ends at the end of this week, so in the mean time you will get to see all my work. :0) The first one I was so thrilled with the way that it turned out. It represents a technique and mine was to use a brayer and have the colors blend into each other. I used three ink pads that were similar in color that I added to my brayer and applied it to glossy card stock. I find that glossy card stock is the best to use when you are using the brayer. I used my Create a Critter 2 on page 70 cut at 16, yep 16 inches. :0) Then I cut the ends to make it look like a banner. the sentiment is from Scrappy Mom's Stamp Set called Sweet Sentiments. The little hearts are from a Martha Stewart Paper Punch. The hearts are also from CC2, but I can't remember the size. Sorry about that!! :)

This one I obviously still need some practice on. First, I need to figure out my spacing better. In this technique I was trying to do a repeat pattern. You can do that with a large or small stamp. Since I didn't have a large background stamp, I created one using the Close To My Heart Thoughts of You Stamp Set. This set is a two stamping set and I used the leaf pattern to create my back ground. The sentiment was My Pink Stamper's Stamp Set called RAK.

Sketch Card Clean and Simple

Hi Everyone! I am continuing week with more cards from my online class from Simon Stamps called Clean and Simple. For this card I made a card with clean lines and followed their sketch. They stressed the importance of sketching so that everything is well planned out. I have to admit that I sketch about 20 percent before I make a card so I am going to try this more often. For this card I used the Straight From My Next Cricut Cartridge on page 40 the circles were cut at 2.3, 1.5 and 3 inches while the stems were cut at 3,4 and 5 inches. The stamp is from CardzTV called Heartfelt Thanks.

Online Card Class Clean and Simple

Hi Everyone! I am taking an online card class from Simon Stamps called Clean and Simple. I am learning so much, but boy is it different from anything that I have done in the past. I am trying to be a good student so that I can learn something from the class so I am taking their direction seriously. :0) Here's a few cards that I made:

For this card I am suppose to focus on clean and simple. So I need to pay attention to my fold lines, ink spots, make sure thing were crisp looking. Nothing to me says crisp like green and white so that's the colors that I choose. I used Accent Essentials to cut out the partial flower on my card. The stamp that I used was a Hampton Arts stamp and the sentiment is from CardzTV Stamps.

For this card I used Accent Essentials cut at 2 inches. I used a Scrappy Mom's Stamp Set called Simple Sentiments. This card was called a negative card which means you need to let your card base color come through.

This card is called Gradient Stamping except I didn't stamp it, I used my Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch to create the effect. I like the way this one turned out. :0)
This one was a single layer card so no bows, rhinestones, flowers, additional card layers. This one was the most difficult for me so far. It was very hard for me to only do one layer, but I do like the way the card turned out in the end. I used black and pink ink to create some visual color interest(I sound like I know what I am taking about, huh?!!) LOL. I also really enjoy the quikkuts die cut that I used to make the "lips". I used a Sizzex heart embossing folder for the background. The stamps that I used was from CardzTV Stamps. The other stamp in the corner that looked likes the postage image was from My Pink Stamper.
This was anther one that was tricky because it involves stamping, not just wording, but REAL STAMPING. OOOHHH! :0) The flowers stamps are from Close To My Heart and the sentiment is from Paper Trey Ink called Movers and Shakers. The trick to this one was to use the stamp in a way that would be unpredictable. They showed an example of some of the stamps lower on a card, the image turned in a 90 degree angle and one other example. I loved turning the image to it's side and then putting the sentiment on the stem. I then colored it with Pro Markers. :0)
This card was made with repeat stamping...or in my case repeat Cricut! LOL I just couldn't help myself. We needed to have a repeat pattern so I did what makes me comfortable and my Cricut makes me comfortable! :0)

I know this is a little out of the norm from what you see from me, but I hope you enjoyed learning something new as I have. XOXO, Julie. :0)
