Daisy Flower Card

My grandmother in England turned 81 on May 22nd. I thought I would make her a bright and cheerful card. I used cream colored card stock for the base of the card. I then layered it with DCWV Whimsey Stack paper. I cut the rectangles in 3, 2 1.2, and 2 inch squares and layered them. I attached a Making Memories Jumbo Blossom(Daisy Spotlint) to the center. Then I cut a rectangle out of the DCWV card stock and layered with a lime green rectangle. I then tied a pink organza ribbon from www.reasonableribbon.com and attached a heart charm that I purchased from Michael's. I think she will be delighted to receive it. Thank you for stopping by! The "Perfect" Flower Card

My cousin in England recently got engaged and I think they are perfect for each other so I couldn't think of anything sweeter then a card that said "perfect"! To make this card I used salmon colored card stock for the background. I then layered it with a stripped card stock paper from Chester, LLC called Me and My Big Ideas that I purchased from Michael's. I used the Cricut cartridge Accent Essentials to make the circle cut out and adhered it with a Prima Island Pastel Flower using a brad. To tie in the brown background on the flower I cut a rectangle out of the brown and separated the salmon from the stripped paper. I then took 1/4 inch lime green ribbon and tied two bows to finish off the look. The "perfect" wording came from CTMH stamp set "Be Yourself". Thanks for looking. -Julie. :0)

Isn't black and lime green so cute together??? This card was made from cream card stock for the back ground. The polkadot paper was from All Dressed Up Dancing Polka Dot. I used a small rectangle piece cut from black card stock. I then used my Accent Essentials Cricut Cartridge to cut the circle(2 1/2 inches) out of lime green cards stock. I then cut a 2 inch circle and stamped the word "beautiful" from the "Be Yourself" set from CTMH stamp set. I used 1/4 inch lime green ribbon to finish off the look with a bow tie. Thank you for looking! Julie. :0)

The back ground paper is from Michael's, All Dressed Up-Cream Pin Stripe and Dancing Polka Dot. The black paper is from a stack that I purchased from DCWV set. More to come tomorrow! Enjoy! -Julie. :0)

Thanks with Gems :0)

This card was made from the Wild Card Cartridge. I used the flowers from the set and enhanced them with blue gems. I'm not sure where this paper was from, I picked out a paisley and a polkadot print. The blue and the brown came together really nice. My inspiration was from the ribbon that I got from Michael's Craft Store in the dollar bin. The thanks was cut from the Wild Card Cartridge as well. Have a terrific Day Everyone! Julie. :0)

One of a kind-Thank you card. :0)

I woke up on Thursday and realized that I needed to get busy with making some thank you cards for the ladies on Split Coast Stampers and Daily Crafter for taking time out of their busy schedules to make cards for the domestic violence shelter. I would not be here and be able to help give cards to others if it weren't for the generosity and kind hearts of them. So a big Thank You to them for all their support! This card was made from DCWV Green Stack and the cute circles were from the Cricut cartridge Accent Essentials. I cut the scalloped circles in 2 1/2, 2 and 1 1/2 circle. I then stamped with "one of a kind" stamp from the CTMH "Be Yourself" stamp set. I am having too much fun with that set. It's very versatile! :0) The card it's self is a cut 4x8 folded in half. I cut a rectangle out of the card stock from the "Green Stack" and finished it of with a funky fibers ribbon. I believe I got the ribbon from Ebay, but I do know that www.reasonableribbon.com carries them as well. Thanks for stopping by! I love comments! :0) Sincerely, Julie.

Lady Bug

I love lady bugs! This card was created with the Wild Card Cartridge "Argyle Card". I cut it out in blackout format. I then cut 3/4 inch shadow cubes in the back and 1/2 inch red cubes stamped with Stampin Up lady bug stamp, then adhered it all to a black square cardstock cutout. I finished it off with the "lady bug" like ribbon. This came in a kit from Costco. If you have red ribbon you could stamp little dots on the ribbon for the same effect. I added a cute saying that I printed out from my computer on red card stock. Enjoy! :0)

Retro Card

Robyn from www.thepinkstamper.blogspot.com made a card that was so cute so I thought I would challenge myself to see what I could come up with. I love the bright colors in this card. This card was made with DCWV Whimsey collection paper. It has glitter around the words, it's really cute! The stamp is from CTMH set "Be Yourself". The charms I have had for a while I got then in a wedding kit and use them for Valentine's Day, anniversary's, engagement's, and weddings. The pink organza ribbon is from www.reasonableribbon.com. Pink scallop was cut with my Cricut. The scalloped edge on the card was cut with Stampin Up scissors.

The sun is shinning here and it's set to be a beautiful weekend. All I can think about is fun in the sun! :0) Thank you for stopping by! Julie.

Tranquility

It's Friday...need I say more?!! Today I thought it would be fun to make a card that could be used for a man. Father's Day is just around the corner so I have it on my mind. Here's how I made this card:

The flower is from the CTMH Thoughts of You set. I used Kaleidacolor multi-colored Blue Breeze stamp pad to create the leaf. Then I stamped over the top with a black stamp pad. I purchased a 12x12 stack of paper(DCWV Green Tree). I cut one square and one rectangle to fit on the card. I then cut another piece of paper to adhere the stamped image on to add depth to the card. Finally I finished it with ribbon. Jo-Ann Fabrics had a huge bin for only $1.00 each. I love the brown and blue combination on the ribbon.

Check back this weekend. I will be adding more cards. Thank you for stopping by. Leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Come Fly With Me! :0)

Hi Everyone-

For today I decided to do a card that represents change. What better way to depict change then via a butterfly? Plus, I thought how perfect would that be for the ladies at the domestic violence shelter? Here's how I made it:

I used the Hello Kitty Cartridge using the butterfly image. I used black, green and blue cardstock. I thought they looked pretty together. I had this ribbon for while that was at www.reasonableribbon.com. If you have not visited that site. It's a must. I don't get paid from her but I think she has wonderful customer service skills. She will go out of her way to help you. She has cheap shipping rates as well. :0) The word beautiful is from the Close to My Heart stamp set "Be Yourself".

Enjoy! :0)

One a Day Challenge-one card a day for 30 days!

So I've decided to challenge myself to make one card a day to post. Don't ask me where all this challenging is coming from! LOL My hairdresser told me it was a midlife thing and that the next thing you know it I will be doing triathlons...NOT! I have challenged myself already to train for a 5K and if anyone knows me running is not my forte. Can anyone say run forest? I have also challenged myself to read at the Bible at least 5 times per week. I know it should be 7, but I have to start somewhere.

So my first challenge was that I needed to make a card for a youngster so I made a Hello Kitty card. It's just adorable. I think adults would love it to. I know I would! :0) I found that I had made quite a bit of cards that were geared towards adults, but I needed some for the children at the shelter. So I used my Cricut to cut out the Hello Kitty. I decided that I wanted it to just say "Hello" rather then "Hello Kitty" so I just pressed stop after the Cricut had cut "Hello" instead of completing the "Kitty" portion. I had the pink and black ribbon from a kit that I purchased at Costco a few years back. I just used the standard pink card stock for the background and then black for the lettering. I think it turned out adorable. Let me know what you think! :0)
