Christmas Fudge

Dashing from the malls, with groceries yet to buy, Workshops, kids & housekeeping, Life's so crazy! Why?

Bells on our telephone ring, the machine will take the call. We have no time for family or friends, It drives us up the wall.

How are you? How's your life? We really want to know. Hope you're ready for Christmas, Now maybe it will snow.

A day or two ago, We thought we'd make a treat, For all our special friends--A Christmas Gift to eat!

Our intentions were top notch, But our schedules would not budge, Hence, here's this year's addition of homemade CHRISTMAS FUDGE!

Embossed Friend Card

This has to be one of the more simple yet beautiful cards that I have made recently. This was made from the DCWV embossed box of cards. I took a fuchsia stamp pad, used a makeup sponge applicator and lightly touched the wording to make it pop. It was originally embossed in white. I love the wording and thought that I would make it stand out a bit. I then used 1/4 ribbon from Michael's...50 cents for three yards! What a deal. I used Memory Makers Jumbo Flowers Blossom Daisy and also Prima Flowers to layer them. I topped it off with a gem brad. Too cute I think! :0)

I adhered it to green card stock that I cut square and added Making Memory square brads to give it more character. Thank you for stopping by! :0)

Update on the 5K

So yesterday I went out and went for a 3 mile run/walk. I thought I would check to see how my progress is coming along. I need to be able to run a 5K my July 4th with my church. I was able to run 2 out of the three miles! Mind you, this is not any fast running. If anything, it's probably the speed of someone who fast walks. I ran on the parts that were straight and down hill and walked when I got to the up hill portion. I am really excited to see the progress from just being persistent and not giving up. Yippie! :0)

My cousin in England recently got engaged and I think they are perfect for each other so I couldn't think of anything sweeter then a card that said "perfect"! To make this card I used salmon colored card stock for the background. I then layered it with a stripped card stock paper from Chester, LLC called Me and My Big Ideas that I purchased from Michael's. I used the Cricut cartridge Accent Essentials to make the circle cut out and adhered it with a Prima Island Pastel Flower using a brad. To tie in the brown background on the flower I cut a rectangle out of the brown and separated the salmon from the stripped paper. I then took 1/4 inch lime green ribbon and tied two bows to finish off the look. The "perfect" wording came from CTMH stamp set "Be Yourself". Thanks for looking. -Julie. :0)

One of a kind-Thank you card. :0)

I woke up on Thursday and realized that I needed to get busy with making some thank you cards for the ladies on Split Coast Stampers and Daily Crafter for taking time out of their busy schedules to make cards for the domestic violence shelter. I would not be here and be able to help give cards to others if it weren't for the generosity and kind hearts of them. So a big Thank You to them for all their support! This card was made from DCWV Green Stack and the cute circles were from the Cricut cartridge Accent Essentials. I cut the scalloped circles in 2 1/2, 2 and 1 1/2 circle. I then stamped with "one of a kind" stamp from the CTMH "Be Yourself" stamp set. I am having too much fun with that set. It's very versatile! :0) The card it's self is a cut 4x8 folded in half. I cut a rectangle out of the card stock from the "Green Stack" and finished it of with a funky fibers ribbon. I believe I got the ribbon from Ebay, but I do know that carries them as well. Thanks for stopping by! I love comments! :0) Sincerely, Julie.

I finished it off with the "lady bug" like ribbon. This came in a kit from Costco. If you have red ribbon you could stamp little dots on the ribbon for the same effect. I added a cute saying that I printed out from my computer on red card stock. Enjoy! :0)

It's Friday...need I say more?!! Today I thought it would be fun to make a card that could be used for a man. Father's Day is just around the corner so I have it on my mind. Here's how I made this card:

The flower is from the CTMH Thoughts of You set. I used Kaleidacolor multi-colored Blue Breeze stamp pad to create the leaf. Then I stamped over the top with a black stamp pad. I purchased a 12x12 stack of paper(DCWV Green Tree). I cut one square and one rectangle to fit on the card. I then cut another piece of paper to adhere the stamped image on to add depth to the card. Finally I finished it with ribbon. Jo-Ann Fabrics had a huge bin for only $1.00 each. I love the brown and blue combination on the ribbon.

Check back this weekend. I will be adding more cards. Thank you for stopping by. Leave a comment and let me know what you think!
